Ducoste receives Blessis Outstanding Undergraduate Advisor Award

Dr. Joel Ducoste, professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE), has been announced as the recipient of this year’s George H. Blessis Outstanding Undergraduate Advisor Award, given by the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University.

Students from across multiple colleges at North Carolina State University gathered in Stewart Theatre on April 5 for the LuLu eGames LIVE, the university’s annual startup competition. More than 500 people were in attendance to see the next generation of entrepreneurs.

At an awards ceremony earlier this month, 46 recipients of the 2017-18 Chancellor’s Study Abroad Scholarship were recognized for their commitment to on-campus and international academic achievement. Of the 46 recipients, 11 students are from the College of Engineering.

Lavelle named ASEE Fellow

Dr. Jerome Lavelle, associate dean of academic affairs in the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University, has been named to the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Academy of Fellows. He will be honored at the 2018 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition Awards Ceremony on June 27, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Velev to receive Langmuir Lecturer Award

Dr. Orlin Velev, INVISTA Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor at North Carolina State University, has been named the recipient of the 2018 Langmuir Lecturer Award from the Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry of the American Chemical Society (ACS).

College of Engineering students place at Annual Graduate Research Symposium

Four graduate students in the College of Engineering and the affiliated Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at NC State University were recognized as best presenters at the University’s 13th Annual Graduate Student Research Symposium on March 21.
