COE Students honored at Chancellor Abroad Scholarship reception

At an awards ceremony earlier this month, 46 recipients of the 2017-18 Chancellor’s Study Abroad Scholarship were recognized for their commitment to on-campus and international academic achievement.

Of the 46 recipients, 11 students are from the College of Engineering:

  • Austin Coleman | Mechanical Engineering
  • Sierra Dawson | Civil Engineering
  • Raveena Doshi | Mechanical Engineering
  • Niharika Elet | Biomedical Engineering
  • Evan Grant | Engineering First Year
  • Ulises Gutierrez | Computer Engineering
  • John Jung| Industrial Engineering
  • Jesse Morgan | Computer Science
  • Luke Oliver | Industrial Engineering
  • Lahari Revuri | Computer Science
  • Joel Caruthers | Civil Engineering

The Chancellor’s Study Abroad Scholarship is funded by the University’s Greatest Needs Fund, which Chancellor Randy Woodson uses to address the challenges faced by or opportunities directed toward members of the NC State community.

The scholarship program seeks to fund students from categories that are underrepresented in study abroad, including minority, first-generation and male students, and students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics-related majors. Final decisions are based on application essays. The scholarship recipients receive $2,500 each.
