Frank and Doris Culberson name atrium in Engineering Building I

The atrium in Engineering Building I, home of Culberson’s home Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE), was dedicated as the Frank and Doris Culberson Atrium in November 2017. Now, the Culbersons have donated to the College to help fund construction of Fitts-Woolard Hall.

The College of Engineering posted more than $200 million in research expenditures in budget year 2016-17, placing NC State Engineering in elite company among engineering schools in the United States. “It’s time for us to give back”

Impressed with the James B. Hunt Jr. Library, Steve Rea and his wife, Phyllis, decided to honor NC State by becoming donors to the NCSU Libraries in 2015, and since then have supported the Libraries broadly. Most significantly, the Reas established the Stephen and Phyllis Rea Endowment for Mechanical Engineering Collections in order to provide resources for all students, and particularly those in the College of Engineering
