Internal PreProposal Review Process :

Please note, this procedure is not addressing preproposals that are prepared for external sponsors and require University/College signature as those submissions will require a PINS record.

Internal preproposal submissions should be routed to College of Engineering - Office of Research Administration (COE-ORA), four (4) business days in advance of the stated deadline.

Upon receipt of the preproposal the College will review the documents for compliance with format and content requirements. If a submission does not meet compliance, the P.I. and his/her department will be informed of the errors/omissions and asked to revise and resubmit the internal preproposal.

Preproposals should not be submitted directly to the Proposal Development Unit (PDU). Any such submissions will be forwarded to the College for a compliance check and then will be re-sent to the PDU once it has been determined that the internal preproposal meets compliance.

The PDU has expressed a preference to receive the information as a single document attachment via email, therefore, this is how it should be sent to the College office.

As a reminder, the processing of 'internal' preproposals through Project Information and Navigation System (PINS) is not required.

Per the PDU guidelines, preproposals must be received by or before the internal preproposal deadline. Late preproposals will be refused, as will incomplete or noncompliant preproposals.
