Daniel receives STEM Educator of the Year Award

Angelitha Daniel, director of Minority Engineering Programs (MEP) in the College of Engineering at NC State University, received the STEM Educator of the Year Award from STEM RTP at its annual STEMmy Awards ceremony on May 22, 2019.

Bullard named ASEE Fellow

Dr. Lisa Bullard, Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor and director of undergraduate studies in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University, has been named to the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Academy of Fellows. She will be honored at the ASEE Annual Conference on June 19 in Tampa, Fla.

ISE senior succeeds in swimming and engineering

In Anton Ipsen’s five years at NC State University, he maintained a perfect GPA and won his department’s Senior Award for Scholarly Achievement — all while putting in 20-25 hours of weekly training for international and NC State swimming, which culminated in a 2016 Olympics performance representing his home country of Denmark, an NCAA championship and an ACC record.

Dr. Medwick V. Byrd, associate teaching professor and undergraduate coordinator for the paper science and engineering program, has been announced as the recipient of this year’s George H. Blessis Outstanding Undergraduate Advisor Award, given by the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University.

Amoah receives first place for presentation at FOM Workshop

On January 29, ORaCEL (Organic and Carbon Electronics Labs) at NC State University held the Future of Materials Workshop at Talley Student Union on NC State’s campus. The aim of the workshop was to “address the grand challenges facing the next generation of functional materials by fostering collaborative activities that harness a wide-range of research tools and intellectual resources within the Research Triangle area.”
