Dr. Su was appointed as the technical editor for the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics Journal (TMECH), which according to its website, is a bimonthly periodical that began as a quarterly in 1996 as a joint publication of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society, ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Division and ASME Design Engineering Division.

“The aim of the present transactions is to establish a high-quality archival journal which presents the state of the art, recent advances and practical applications of mechatronics,” TMECH’s website states. “Its scope encompasses all practical aspects of the theory and methods of mechatronics, the synergetic integration of mechanical engineering with electronic and intelligent computer control in the design and manufacture of industrial products and processes.”

Dr. Su’s expertise on the journal’s subject matter stems from his extensive research, which is focused on the design, learning and control of soft robots, surgical robots and humanoid robots. His appointment as Technical Editor of TMECH consists of a 12 months observational period followed by a 24 months appointment with the option of a 12-month extension, and it will begin August 1, 2022.
