The College of Engineering at North Carolina State University held its position in the 2019 US News & World Report rankings of top graduate engineering programs. The College ranked 24th nationally and 12th among public institutions for a second straight year.

NC State tied at 24th with Duke University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. The 2018 and 2019 reports represent the College’s highest ranking in the last 16 years.

The US News rankings of graduate programs are released annually in March with updated rankings of both colleges and departments. The rankings are one benchmark of success in academia.

Among rankings of programs in specific engineering disciplines, the Departments of Nuclear Engineering and Biological and Agricultural Engineering and the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering each finished in the top 15. NC State also improved its rankings in aerospace, biomedical, environmental and mechanical engineering in 2019, compared to the 2018 rankings.
