Clean energy opportunity diversity scholarship­ – applications available

The N.C. Clean Energy Technology Center (NCCETC) at N.C. State University, with support from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, is expanding its workforce development training to include Clean Energy Opportunity Diversity Scholarships­ for historically underrepresented applicants in eastern North Carolina.

New approach uses ultrasound to measure fluid in the lungs

A team of engineering and medical researchers has found a way to use ultrasound to monitor fluid levels in the lung, offering a noninvasive way to track progress in treating pulmonary edema – fluid in the lungs – which often occurs in patients with congestive heart failure.

Drs. Jay Narayan and Paul Turinsky will be formally inducted during a ceremony at the NAE’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 8. Their election will bring the number of NAE members in the College to 17.
