Frey named chair of EPA clean air committee

Dr. H. Christopher Frey, Distinguished University Professor of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University, has been appointed by US Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson to chair the independently chartered Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC) for two years. Frey began his new role Oct. 1.

Hall of Fame Astronaut to Honor NC State Student at Public Presentation

Space Shuttle astronaut Kathryn Thornton will present North Carolina State University engineering student Andrew Santos with a $10,000 scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) during a public presentation and ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10 in the Witherspoon Student Center, Room 126, on the NC State Main Campus.

New director named for the NC State Pre-engineering Program at UNC-Wilmington

Dr. Amy Craig Reamer has been named the new director of North Carolina State University’s Pre-engineering Program at UNC-Wilmington. She began August 1.
