Minerva Bonilla, Ph.D. ’23, is helping make our intersections safer

Bonilla, who graduated in August from NC State with her Ph.D. in construction and transportation engineering, likes to take on projects with tangible results, and especially those that make a positive impact on people’s lives.

CBE students sweep the awards at ALD/ALE 2022

Landon Keller and Hannah Margavio, CBE Ph.D. students in the Parsons Lab, attended the AVS 22nd International Conference on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD 2022) featuring the 9th International Atomic Layer Etching Workshop (ALE 2022). This year’s three day meeting took place in Ghent, Belgium, and included over 800 attendees.

Grad student wins fellowship from Chilean National Research and Development Agency

CCEE graduate student Tómas Cuevas López was awarded a fellowship from the Chilean National Research and Development Agency. The Beca de Magister en el Extranjero supports Chilean students pursuing master’s degrees abroad.

Textiles education takes graduate to Thailand, Hong Kong and Los Angeles

Iezzi graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in textile technology and walked across the stage the following year with a master’s degree in textile engineering. This process would have typically taken at least six years, but he completed it in five thanks to the college’s Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s program.

Ph.D. student Adam Schmidt represents NC State at Graduate Education Day at N.C. General Assembly

CCEE Ph.D. student Adam Schmidt, alongside other graduate students, faculty and administrators from across North Carolina, shared the value of the state’s graduate education with legislators as part of Graduate Education Day at the N.C. General Assembly.

Ajit Kanale receives Outstanding PhD Student of the Year award

Congratulations to Ajit Kanale from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for receiving the 2021-22 Outstanding PhD Student of the Year Award from the College of Engineering. In addition to his recognition, Kanale will receive $1,000, a plaque, a gift from graduate programs and will be added to the recurring plaque of acknowledgement for past recipients in the Dean’s office.
