Genzer receives 2019 R.J. Reynolds Award
Dr. Jan Genzer, S. Frank and Doris Culberson Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) at North Carolina State University, is the thirty-fifth recipient of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company Award for Excellence in Teaching, Research and Extension. Genzer gave his award titled, “A Voyage from Flatland to the Flatterland, and the Highlands in Soft Matter,” at the Larry K. Monteith Engineering Research Center on NC State’s Centennial Campus on Oct. 29.

Zhu to receive outstanding achievement award
Professor Yong Zhu has been selected to receive the 2019 ASME Gustus L. Larson Memorial Award by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) and Pi Tau Sigma.
Dickey named Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering
Dr. Elizabeth Dickey has been named Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at North Carolina State University. Dickey has been a member of the NC State faculty since 2011.
Martens receives NSF CAREER Award
Dr. Chris Martens, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University, has received a Faculty Early Career Development award, also known as the CAREER Award, from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Frey receives Excellence in Air Pollution Control Award
Dr. H. Christopher Frey received the 2019 Frank A. Chambers Excellence in Air Pollution Control Award from the Air & Waste Management Association on June 27.
Huang named recipient of presidential award for young scientists and engineers
Dr. Hsiao-Ying Shadow Huang, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University, has been named a recipient of the 2019 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE).

Clark Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, received an Outstanding Global Engagement Award.
