NC State ISE students join forces with hosiery mill to create face masks

Sameer Murarka Entrepreneurship Scholar and NC State Entrepreneurship Scholar Katie Lawson partnered with Eric Swanson to apply their industrial engineering knowledge in production line optimization, mask design and safe packaging to help meet the increased demand for face coverings during the pandemic.

Incredible achievements in a challenging year

In a difficult year when little went as planned, the College of Engineering has accomplished some incredible achievements, from taking up critical response efforts to the COVID-19 pandemic to opening the new Fitts-Woolard Hall and meeting fundraising goals that will grow the College’s impact for generations to come.

Jiang named Dean F. Duncan Distinguished Professor

Xiaoning Jiang has been named a Dean F. Duncan Distinguished Professor by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Jiang joined the department in November 2009 and is also an adjunct professor of biomedical engineering, researching micro/nano-engineering of smart materials and structures.
