The NC State University Pack Motorsports Baja SAE Team competed against 85 teams in the Baja SAE Oregon competition in Washougal, Washington last month, closing out their 2023 competition season with a second set of strong results, officially posted this week.

At SAE Oregon, the team placed 12th Overall and 9th Overall in the dynamic events, continuing their momentum from Oshkosh earlier in the month, where they landed 12th Overall and 8th Overall in dynamic events.

According to Baja team co-captain Sean Fijen, this year’s car performed at a very high level in SAE Oregon’s harsh terrain.

“Our ’23 car ‘Pterry,’ is quite the acrobat and can do things that would make a Jeep Wrangler blush,” Fijen said.

In addition to the team’s overall successes, they specifically ranked 9th in Endurance, 6th in Acceleration, 12th in Hill Climb, 13th in Maneuverability and 16th in Rock Crawl.

With the conclusion of SAE Oregon, the Pack Motorsports Baja team will soon begin preparing for the construction of next year’s car and its 2024 competitions.
