Search for Deans of the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Engineering, and Sciences underway

Open searches for deans of the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Engineering, and Sciences are now underway.

Earlier this semester, it was shared that Dean Louis Martin-Vega will will be stepping down from his position at the end of the 2022-23 academic year, and returning to the faculty in the Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering; and Dean Chris McGahan will retire January 1 after 40 years of service to the university.

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

The nomination committee for the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences search is chaired by Steve Lommel, associate dean and director of the N.C. Agricultural Research Service, and William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor of Entomology and Plant Pathology in the college. The other committee members are listed here

College of Engineering

The nomination committee for the College of Engineering search is chaired by Ruben Carbonell, Director, Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science, and Frank Hawkins Kenan Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in the college. The other committee members are listed here

College of Sciences

The nomination committee for the College of Sciences search is chaired by Kathryn Meurs, Randall B. Terry, Jr. Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine. The other committee members are listed here

NC State has contracted Buffkin/Baker search firm to manage recruiting for these searches. Executive Search Services in NC State’s Human Resources division will be working alongside Buffkin/Baker to manage the search logistics. Kelly Wick will be managing the searches for the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost.
