Overview
Alternative fuels and advanced transportation technologies are the
focus of the Clean Transportation Program at NC State University’s
Solar Center. Collaborating with government, non-profit and businesses,
the Clean Transportation team strives to improve air quality and energy
security by diversifying fuel supplies and promoting economic
development that utilizes local resources and cleaner technologies.
Through projects,
the expanded use of biodiesel, ethanol, natural gas, propane,
electricity and advanced transportation technologies such as diesel
retrofits and idle reduction technologies are supported. Education and
outreach is provided through fact
sheets, news
items, meetings,
events,
research
dissemination and serving as a clearinghouse for funding
opportunities.
Organizations in North Carolina that are demonstrating exemplary effort
to reduce mobile emissions are highlighted through success
stories and public recognition. Join our sponsors and get
involved in your own community to help transition to cleaner
transportation technologies and a more sustainable future for North
Carolina.
