What’s in a name?

Engineering Faculty Advancement (EFA) is pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2024, it was renamed Office of Faculty Development & Success (OFDS) to better reflect its commitment to advancing faculty success.

The unit has also undergone a comprehensive review and engaged in consultation with faculty members at roundtables to update its vision, mission statement and goals in order to align with higher education disciplines and convey our purpose in the College of Engineering.

These updates in particular address the escalating pressures faced by faculty in enhancing teaching practices, securing external funding and navigating the intricate balance between professional and personal responsibilities. These changes will be reflected in the inaugural newsletter, as well as in upcoming newsletters and initiatives in 2024 and beyond.
