Alamance Engineering Camps

Please join Alamance Community College in hosting its inaugural summer engineering camp which is partnered with both Alamance-Burlington School System and North Carolina State University. This camp is being hosted to make STEM education available to students in the Alamance County area. Our planning team has a passion for STEM education.

Alamance Engineering Summer Camp is an outreach partner of The Engineering Place, the K-20 outreach organization for the College of Engineering at NC State University.

Rising 3rd – 5th Graders

Elementary School Camp:  June 22nd – 26th at Alamance Community College

A Typical Day at Camp

Students will learn about the engineering design process through a fun filled day of hands-on science activities. Students will be creating their own design solutions to specific challenges. The camp activities encourage critical thinking, cooperation, and team building. Each year, new activities are developed and selected for camp. Our camp staff is composed of Certified Public School teachers trained by The Engineering Place to teach engineering concepts, students at Alamance Community College, and high school students from Alamance County. Snacks and lunch will be provided. Students can also choose to bring their own lunch.

NC State Engineering Summer Camp

Hours: Grades 3-5 (8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Location: Alamance Community College – Main Campus

Camp Fees: $100 per child

Application Deadlines: All summer applications must be submitted by April 30th
