The Engineering Place

Diversifying the world of engineering through education

Welcome to The Engineering Place (TEP), NC State University’s K–20 education and resource headquarters for exploring engineering and engineering education. Our programs target all aspects of the Engineering Education Ecosystem, making our programming very unique in the state. Since its beginnings in 1999, TEP has focused on serving underserved and underrepresented populations.

Explore our website and learn how TEP provides innovative programs for students, teachers, and the public in North Carolina and across the globe.

We Are Engineering

Engineering Education Outreach programs focus on hands-on, open-ended engineering challenges that give participants experience both doing engineering and thinking like an engineer to solve problems. These programs include summer camps, on-campus programs for all grade levels, community programs, topical workshops, and much more. The Engineering Place builds excitement around engineering for students and teachers.

We focus on highlighting the importance of diversity in the engineering fields as we increase the understanding of engineering disciplines, careers, and the impact engineers have on everyday life with students, teachers, and the general public!

Making a Difference

The Engineering Place has provided innovative engineering programming to K-20 students and teachers across the state of North Carolina, the United States, and internationally. Since 1998, TEP has impacted over 1 million students, teachers, and parents.
