Dr. Ge Yang, associate professor of nuclear engineering at NC State University, attained senior membership within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Senior Member is the highest professional grade of IEEE for which application may be made.

Dr. Justin Schwartz, head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Kobe Steel Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University, has been named a Fellow of ASM International.

Dr. Laura Bottomley, director of the Women in Engineering program and The Engineering Place in the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University, has been named to the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Academy of Fellows. She will be honored at the ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition Awards Ceremony June 16 in Indianapolis, Ind.
