CCEE hosts water contamination detection and response workshop

CCEE hosted a workshop alongside the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on April 4 to bring water utility, public health, health care professionals and other community members together to discuss how the detection of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) could impact public health and public confidence in the water supply.

NC State researchers recognized for work on PFAS pollution

Detlef Knappe’s work discovering and tracing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds in the Cape Fear River basin in eastern North Carolina was recognized by a grateful city council in Wilmington, NC, earlier this month.

Dr. Christopher Frey, professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University, has been appointed chair of the Lead Review Panel of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC).
