ECE researchers help develop public charging infrastructure for wheelchairs

Two years in the making, their network and hardware are now ready for public use. The system includes an offboard charger, a user interface on the chair that reports battery status and charger locations, and a web portal that shows real time updates and performance information.

Misra named MC Dean Distinguished University Professor

Veena Misra has earned the second honorific professorship title MC Dean Distinguished University Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The title was approved by a committee of distinguished peers, the chancellor, the executive vice chancellor and the provost. College of Engineering Dean, Louis Martin-Vega recommended Misra for the title.

New engineering lab to improve viral vector processes and technologies

Viral vectors are viruses that have been modified to deliver genetic material into cells for treatment or research. Because viruses already naturally know how to deliver their genomes into cells they want to infect, scientists can use non-pathogenic viruses as a vehicle to introduce what they need directly into a cell.

Adams receives the 2022 William F. Lane Outstanding Teaching Award

William F. Lane Outstanding Teaching Award. The William F. Lane Outstanding Teacher Award recognizes excellence in teaching or educational leadership in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). The award is presented annually by ECE along with a certificate and a $500 cash award. Winners of the Lane Award are automatically considered by ECE for the NC State Outstanding Teacher Award.
