Battestilli, Johnson and Liu receive Outstanding Teacher Awards

The award recognizes excellence in teaching and welcomes recipients as members of the Academy of Outstanding Teachers while they are NC State faculty members. Additionally, receiving the award is a prerequisite for being considered for the Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Alumni Distinguished Professor Award.

2022-23 University Teaching Awards announced

NC State has honored more than 42 faculty for their commitment to educational excellence with the 2022-23 University Teaching Awards. Award recipients were recognized at a University Teaching Awards Luncheon and Ceremony on April 21 at the Park Alumni Center.

CCEE hosts water contamination detection and response workshop

CCEE hosted a workshop alongside the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on April 4 to bring water utility, public health, health care professionals and other community members together to discuss how the detection of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) could impact public health and public confidence in the water supply.

Engineering faculty among 2022-23 Goodnight Early Career Innovators

NC State announced its 2022-23 class of Goodnight Early Career Innovators today. This program recognizes and rewards promising NC State early-career faculty whose scholarship is in STEM or STEM education. The 25 faculty selected will receive $22,000 ­for each of the next three years to support their scholarship and research endeavors.

CCEE’s Ashly Cabas selected for Virginia Tech Young Alumni award

CCEE Assistant Professor Ashly Cabas was selected as a 2023 Charles E. Via, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Outstanding Young Alumni at Virginia Tech University. She will be recognized at the department’s Alumni Achievement Awards Banquet on March 23.

Knappe receives A.P. Black Research Award from AWWA

James Ellen Distinguished Professor Detlef Knappe received the A.P. Black Research Award from the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Knappe will be recognized during the American Water Works Association Annual Conference and Exposition in Toronto in June.

Han named Edward I. Weisiger Distinguished Scholar

CCEE Associate Professor Kevin Han was named an Edward I. Weisiger Distinguished Scholar by NC State. Han first joined CCEE in 2016 as an assistant professor and received tenure in 2022.
