COE departments get creative for commencement

The class of 2020 attended their classes online, took exams online, and ultimately ended their time as undergraduates online with virtual commencement ceremonies put on by NC State University on Dec. 4, 2020 and by the College of Engineering’s academic departments. The Fall 2020 graduates had safe but celebratory sendoffs, as the College’s departments worked hard to make them special for a class that has faced unprecedented challenges in their final year of undergraduate studies due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

NASA engineer, leader to give NC State fall commencement speech

NC State grads will draw inspiration from commencement speaker Christine Mann Darden, an internationally recognized researcher whose work is fueling the development of supersonic jets. In August 2017, Darden visited the College of Engineering to deliver the annual Welcome for Engineering First-Year Students and give a technical seminar on sonic boom minimization.
