C.A. Anderson Awards 2022 makes history

Once again, ISE’s stars shined brightly together for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic emerged. And shine brilliantly they did, making C.A. Anderson history with the first-ever tie for the coveted Anderson Award!

NC State student chapter designated as “Outstanding University” by American Concrete Institute

The NC State American Concrete Institute (ACI) student chapter was given “Outstanding University” status by ACI, which identifies universities based on their participation in select ACI-related activities and programs through a points system. This year, 86 universities received recognition as part of the ACI Excellent or Outstanding Universities Award Program.

Established in 1975, the Air Breathing Propulsion Award is presented to an individual for sustained, meritorious accomplishment in the arts, sciences, and technology of air breathing propulsion systems.

Rashida Hodge, an alumna of the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) and executive at IBM, was recently named to Fortune magazine’s 40 Under 40 Technology list.

Three NC State students, including chemical and biomolecular engineering student Daniel Haller, have each received the Goldwater Scholarship—the most prestigious and competitive undergraduate award for STEM students in the country.
