Solteria Ross, who graduates this May with a B.S. in aerospace engineering and minors in English and women’s and gender studies, has enjoyed her classes, internships and experiences learning about one of her earliest passions, space. College honors four with Outstanding Senior Awards

Four seniors in the College of Engineering received 2022 Outstanding Senior Awards for their exceptional contributions to NC State and beyond in Citizenship and Service, Humanities, Leadership and Scholarly Achievement. Winners received their awards during a special ceremony held at the James B. Hunt Jr. Library on NC State’s Centennial Campus on April 26.

MSE senior Katie Shaffer helps make STEM fields more inclusive, diverse

Katie has been a key fixture in the MSE department since her first year, starting in spring 2019. “I became an undergraduate researcher in my second-semester first year under Dr. Cuomo. He was able to introduce the world of MSE research before my first MSE class,” says Katie.
