Dean Louis A. Martin-Vega and the College of Engineering will hold an Industry Partners Lunch and Panel with North Carolina business and governmental leaders to highlight the College’s ongoing contributions to the state and its plans for expansion.

The event will be held at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, in James B. Hunt Jr. Library on NC State’s Centennial Campus and will be streamed online.

Invitees can enjoy lunch with fellow alumni and state leaders and hear insights from a distinguished panel of state and industry leaders on how the College of Engineering is playing a vital role in the expansion of North Carolina’s technology ecosystem.

NC State’s College of Engineering has long served as a key driver of the state’s economy, providing job-ready graduates for a wide range of the state’s business sectors and launching new ventures based on ideas that take root on our campus. Now, thanks in part to announcements from Apple, Google, FUJIFILM Diosynth and other companies of their plans to locate or expand in the state, legislative leaders are investing in a 4,000-student expansion of the College called Engineering North Carolina’s Future.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Chris Chung, chief executive officer for the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.

Panelists for the event will be:

  • Sen. Dave Craven, North Carolina Senate District 26
  • Rep. Dean Arp, North Carolina House of Representatives District 69
  • Bhavana Bartholf, chief transformation officer, Microsoft USA
  • John Palmour, co-founder and chief technology officer, Wolfspeed
  • Kenneth Bilenberg, vice president and site head, FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies.

Those interested in watching the panel discussion online are invited to contact Carissa Burroughs with the NC State Engineering Foundation at csburrou@ncsu.edu.
