Dr. Igor Bolotnov begins his three-year term as an Associate Editor for the Annals in Nuclear Energy. ANE is a peer-reviewed scientific journal founded in 1975 and published by Elsevier.

Igor Bolotnov

The Annals in Nuclear Energy provides an international medium for the communication of original research, ideas, and developments in all areas of the field of nuclear energy science and technology. Its scope embraces nuclear fuel reserves, fuel cycles and cost, materials, processing, system and component technology (fission only), design and optimization, direct conversion of nuclear energy sources, environmental control, reactor physics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics, structural analysis, fuel management, future developments, nuclear fuel and safety, nuclear aerosol, neutron physics, computer technology (both software and hardware), risk assessment, radioactive waste disposal and reactor thermal hydraulics.

Dr. Bolotnov is a professor of nuclear engineering at North Carolina State University. His research focusses on multiscale approaches for nuclear reactor simulations, development of novel multiphase flow turbulence models, and direct numerical simulation of single and multiphase turbulent flows. He is the program chair and treasurer for the American Nuclear Society (ANS) Thermal Hydraulics Division (THD) and past president of NC State University Sigma Xi Chapter.
