College to hold Industry Partners Virtual Panel event

Dean Louis A. Martin-Vega and the College of Engineering will hold an Industry Partners Virtual Panel event with North Carolina business and governmental leaders to discuss the relationship between research and economic development.

The panel discussion, “Success in Leveraging State Funding to Attract Federal Research – a Catalyst for Economic Development in the State of North Carolina,” will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, via Zoom. The panel event is sponsored by the NC State Engineering Foundation, Inc.

NC State engineering alumna Pamela TownsendPE, will moderate the panel. Townsend, who is a senior vice president for WSP, USA, was named by the College as a Distinguished Engineering Alumna in 2016.

Ruben Carbonell, senior technology strategist, National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals; director, William R. Kenan, Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science; distinguished fellow, Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center Frank Hawkins Kenan Distinguished Professor, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, NC State University.
