Three College of Engineering student teams have been selected to pitch their innovative ideas at Wolf Den – NC State University’s pitch competition inspired by the ABC television show, Shark Tank.

Hosted by the Entrepreneurship Student Ambassadors, a total of six teams will compete on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Duke Energy Hall in James B. Hunt Library.

The three engineering students competing are:

Ethan Eldridge, senior, mechanical engineering major, with his project Exo – the first passive and uniquely simple device to improve mobility.

Clay Dowdey, senior, chemical engineering major, with his project Flux Hybrids – a startup focused on making hybrid technology better and more accessible with clean hybrid-electric conversion technology.

Hampton Clark, senior, mechanical engineering, with his project Chip Vision – which seeks to automate the process in casinos where players buy and cash out their chips allowing casinos to lower their labor costs and reduce wait times.

The students are competing for $2,100 in prizes. Each of the three judges are allotted a $500 award and $200 award, which they can give at their discretion. There is no limit on how many awards each student team can win.

Wolf Den is held annually during Global Entrepreneurship Week and is sponsored by NC State Entrepreneurship, NCSU Libraries and the Poole College of Management.
