Writing services offered for engineering graduate students
Graduate students in the College of Engineering who want to improve their writing have a new resource, thanks to a partnership between the College and the NC State Graduate School.
Dr. Katie Homar has joined NC State as an academic/technical writing specialist. Homar has planned several programs for the spring semester to assist engineering master’s and Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers with strategies for better writing, feedback on papers, help with outlines for a thesis or research article, ideas for document design and more.
Engineering Cafes
Engineering Cafes are a series of hands-on writing workshops in which participants will learn and apply strategies for effective writing at any stage of their academic and professional careers. The cafes are held on Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. in Daniels Hall 214.

Preliminary Proposals Workshop
March 29, 3 to 5 p.m., 1021 Engineering Building II
This workshop planned with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers assistance with preliminary dissertation proposals. It is open to students from all engineering departments.
