Why did you choose to study abroad?

I wanted to expand my knowledge of the world and meet new friends.

What did you learn about yourself?

I learned that I can adapt to a different environment, even if I don’t initially think I can.

What was one of your favorite parts of your program?

My favorite part of the program was the ability to explore the city of Prague with a group of friends. Group led tours were fun as well, but the freedom to explore on my own was great.

What advice do you have to future study abroad students?

Make sure you do your own research when going abroad. Chances are, you’ll have the opportunity to explore some on your own.

How did your study abroad experience prepare you for your future career?

I’ve developed a more global world view and gained first hand experience traveling and living abroad.

Were you surprised by anything during your time abroad?

I was surprised by how easily the city I was staying in began to feel like home.

How were your classes abroad different than if you would have taken them at NC State? Did you take any field trips or do anything outside of the traditional classroom?

The class that I took became much more applicable as I could see examples of what I was learning as soon as I stepped outside into our host city.

Would you do it again?

Absolutely.
