Krute named ASEE Fellow

Dr. Linda Krute, Director of the Engineering Online distance education program at North Carolina State University, has been named to the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Academy of Fellows. She will be honored at the ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition Awards Banquet in Vancouver, BC, Canada in June.

The ASEE Board of Directors confers fellowship status upon ASEE members with outstanding qualifications and experience who have made important contributions in engineering, engineering technology education or an allied field. Special attention is given to an individual’s contributions within ASEE.

Krute has served the ASEE Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Division as chair, treasurer, program chair and general conference chair of the Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration (CIEC); division chair and CIEC program chair and general conference chair for the College-Industry Division (CIP).  She was awarded the Joseph M. Biedenbach Distinguished Service Award by the CPD Division in 2004 and in 2009.

Krute, who came to NC State in 2002, is responsible for the administration of undergraduate and graduate distance education programs in the College of Engineering.   The online graduate program is among the largest engineering distance education programs in the nation.

Founded in 1893, ASEE is a nonprofit member association that strives for the advancement and expansion of engineering and technology education. ASEE members include more than 12,000 deans, professors, instructors, students and industry representatives nationwide.
