Chemical engineering department among Top 10 in R&D

A recent article in Chemistry & Engineering News (C&EN) magazine places the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University sixth among national departments of chemical engineering in spending on research and development (R&D) and sixth in federal support for R&D.

The article “Academic R&D Spending Trends” appears in the Oct. 26 edition of the magazine. The article tracks the R&D spending of national chemical engineering departments for a 10-year period. During the past 10 years, NC State’s department has remained in the top 10, with its highest ranking of second place achieved in 2005.
