College of Engineering Teaching Professors Community

Welcome to a community of teaching professors dedicated to advancing educational excellence within the College of Engineering. Our collaborative efforts encompass a wide range of initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching effectiveness and research in engineering education. Here, we document and share teaching professor interests, pool resources for educational research, and tackle obstacles related to proposal applications. We keep you informed about training opportunities, funding sources, and multidisciplinary studies. As advocates for best practices, we organize workshops, discuss promotion strategies, and even influence policies. Plus, we offer support through Teaching Faculty Development Project Awards (pending funding availability).

Join us to connect with like-minded educators, elevate your teaching career, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering education at NC State. Together, we can make a difference.

Goals

  • Facilitate networking so that faculty can identify potential collaborators as well as mentors
  • Share information related to promotion and tenure for the teaching professor track
  • Increase awareness of the teaching professor role within the college
  • Encourage one another in the unique position that we have within the college to positively impact teaching and advising
