First Year Inquiry (FYI) Courses

Fall 2016 FYI Open Seats

First Year Inquiry (FYI) courses are small sections (about 19 seats) of General Education courses featuring active learning opportunities exclusively for first-year students.

We have a large number of seats open in a wide range of classes. To be exact, all our non-linked FYI seats are now open to all freshman students.

Below are a few examples of FYI courses with open seats:

  • EMA 110: Introduction to Arts Entrepreneurship
    Section 001Q
    This course introduces students to the basic components of an entrepreneurial lifestyle in the arts for those interested in starting an arts business. Students explore fundamental issues arts entrepreneurs encounter and how they can be addressed before the startup process reaches the launch cycle. Students are required to provide their own transportation to and cover the admission costs of off-campus events.
