Celebrating 100 years of engineering

The NC State College of Engineering celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023.

Engineering has always been at the heart of North Carolina State University’s mission. Fourteen of the first 19 alumni to graduate in 1893 earned their degrees in mechanic arts, also known as engineering. Thirty years later, in 1923, NC State University officially established the School of Engineering.

Over that century, our alumni, faculty members, staff members and students have made their mark on the state of North Carolina, the United States and beyond. We are proud of our College’s accomplishments — and of our aspirations for the future.

In recognition of this important milestone, we’ll be putting on several events with Dean Louis Martin-Vega, culminating in a celebration in Raleigh on May 3.

More details will follow. We hope you’ll join us.
