Biofuels & Engine Cycles Workshop Staff
Dr. Matthew Veal is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at NC State. He received his BS and MS from Auburn University and his PhD from University of Kentucky. His area of specialization is in technology transfer in the area of bioprocesses and the application of bioprocesses using automated machine systems.
Heather Austin received her bachelor's degree in Marketing Education from NCSU in 1993, and currently works in Student Services in the Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering. Her emphasis is student recruitment, placement and internships. She has been working with Engineering Summer Programs since 2005 and decided to work at NC State because she enjoys helping students find a comfortable fit in their academic programs and in their career after graduation.
Emily Morton is currently a senior in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, with a concentration in Bioprocessing. She is working with Dr. Veal this summer on his projects and will be helping his grad students. For Emily, Biological Engineering was the only major that involves problem solving, math, science, and provided her an opportunity to help the environment.
