The College of Engineering has 547 teaching, research and professional staff, many of whom have student services and academic advising as part of their responsibilities. Undergraduates benefit from the extensive research (over $62 million per year) that is being conducted throughout the college, both in terms of having the latest information in the classroom from faculty who are involved in exciting research activities and in gaining hands-on experience by participating in some projects.

Seniors in Computer Science display final design projects in which they resolve real problems for corporate clients.

Undergraduate students work with faculty and graduate students on projects through a number of research centers within the college. There are a total of 25 such centers based in the College of Engineering, greatly enhancing the academic atmosphere and providing experiences to undergraduates that will benefit them well into their careers or further study.

Every year, the campus sponsors an Undergraduate Research Symposium to encourage and showcase the outstanding research of undergraduates. Engineering students are always well represented.
