North Carolina State University is currently accepting applications for its Science And Technology Enriching Lifelong Leadership In Tomorrow’s Endeavors (SATELLITE) program, which is designed to help sophomores and juniors from rural North Carolina high schools explore opportunities in science and technology. The program is designed to provide the students with a multi-faceted experience in university living, scientific exploration, personal development and educational achievement. The five-day event will take place this year over spring break at NC State, March 10 through 14.
High school students from rural schools who are interested in science and technology careers are invited to apply. Criteria for selection include scholastic performance, recommendations from teachers, involvement in school and community activities and creativity.
The Colleges of Engineering, Agriculture and Life Sciences and Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NC State are involved in SATELLITE. Each year about 35 high school students participate. The program is organized and directed by undergraduate students at NC State.
Information about SATELLITE is available at http://www.ncsu.edu/stud_orgs/satellite/about.html.
