First-Quarter Pride of the Wolfpack Award Recipients Announced

The “Pride of the Wolfpack Award” recipients in the College of Engineering for January through March 2008 are Janice Bullock, Bonny Downing, Donna C. Horton, Lisa Marshall, Daniel Pietrzak, Will Rowland and Joe Stiles.

Janice Bullock, administrative specialist for Industrial Extension Service Energy Management, contributes her skillful organization and upbeat demeanor to ensure a pleasant work environment for her coworkers.

Bonny Downing, personnel assistant in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, has become an invaluable member of her department after her first year, and her coworkers appreciate most her attention to detail, skills in problem-solving and dedication.

Donna C. Horton, administrative manager in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, stepped up to take on the additional responsibilities of operations in her department, filling in for vacant positions and training new employees.

Lisa Marshall, nuclear outreach instructor and new student academic adviser in the Department of Nuclear Engineering, has been an outstanding example of leadership in outreach for the College, handling undergraduate advising coordination; graduate student open houses; and working with students, staff, and professional societies for the success of the department and College.

Daniel Pietrzak, director of development in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, led and organized the Engineering Building III Groundbreaking, working with all levels of the University and accommodating the visit of Governor Easley. As an employee for less than a year, Pietrzak's hard work and dedication shaped an event that was a great success and an excellent showcase of the University.

Will Rowland, assistant director of engineering facilities, puts in long hours and hard work to keep principal investigators, staff and students operating with the safest and most efficient equipment. His patience and professionalism in working with the College are only matched by his positive attitude.

Joe Stiles, technology support technician in the Industrial Extension Service (IES), has been a credit to his department as he has picked up additional responsibilities and has continued to come to the rescue of offices around the state. Reliable and encouraging, Stiles' positive attitude and dedication have kept IES up and running.
