What do plasma reactors, an artificial nose, rapid prototyping machines, a subsonic wind tunnel and mobile robots have in common? They are all featured at the annual open house at the NC State University College of Engineering from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18. The open house is free and open to the public.
Prospective engineering students and families are invited to learn more about engineering programs offered at NC State through laboratory tours, demonstrations, information sessions and faculty presentations. Representatives from the admissions office and the cooperative education office will be on hand to answer questions, and faculty representatives from each department will be available to talk with prospective students and their parents. Refreshments will be served.
NC State University's College of Engineering offers 16 undergraduate, 17 master's and 14 doctoral degree programs. The college has the sixth largest undergraduate program in the United States and ranks fifth in the nation in industry-sponsored research. The college has 221 tenured and tenure-track faculty members, and 10 of whom are members of the National Academy of Engineering.
