The Department of Nuclear Engineering at North Carolina State University announces its 2003 Nuclear Engineering Distinguished Technical Lecture Series. The annual lecture series, established in 2002 to honor one individual who has made significant contributions to nuclear engineering, is held to acquaint students with research progress in the field. In addition to the lecture, the event includes informal discussions between the honoree and student participants.
This year's lecturer is Dr. Edward W. Larsen, professor of nuclear engineering and radiological sciences at the University of Michigan. He will present a talk entitled “Hybrid Monte Carlo-Deterministic Methods for Simulating Radiation Interactions with Matter" Thursday, February 20 at 4:15 p.m. in the Progress Energy Lecture Hall in the Burlington Nuclear Engineering Laboratories on the north campus of NC State. A reception will precede the lecture at 3:45 p.m.
