Mulkey Gives College of Engineering Keynote Address

First-year Engineering students attended the College of Engineering (COE) Welcome on September 4. The Welcome event introduces NC State University and College resources to new students. This year the keynote address, “Lessons Learned,” was presented by Barbara H. Mulkey (CE ’77, CE ’84), CEO and president of Barbara H. Mulkey Engineering Inc., a firm that offers transportation, surveying, land development and water resources services. Mulkey discussed the keys to her success and challenged the students with ethical questions related to engineering practice issues.

The keynote address is given each year by an NC State alumnus. The COE Welcome was attended by more than 1,000 students.
