Dr. Andrey V. Kuznetsov, professor of mechanical engineering at North Carolina State University, has been selected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

ASME recognized Kuznetsov for the “substantial impact that his research had in his field and [in] extending the mechanical engineering field to interdisciplinary domains”. He was also recognized for his extensive publication record and for his involvement in ASME activities. He received the award in June.

Kuznetsov’s research interests include transport in porous media, nanofluids, biological mass transfer and filtration.

Founded in 1880, ASME is a worldwide organization dedicated to the promotion of the art, science and practice of mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe.

Kuznetsov received his M.S. in mechanical engineering in 1988 at Bauman State Technical University, Moscow; his M.S. in applied mathematics in 1990 at Moscow State University; and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering in 1992 from the MR Research Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences.
