NC State hosts NEI Clean Energy America tour

The Nuclear Energy Institute launched its first Clean Energy America (CEA) tour on Sept. 22, and one of its first stops was at NC State.

NC State hosted the national speakers program in Burlington Engineering Laboratories, which houses the Department of Nuclear Engineering. The tour also visited other sites in North Carolina.

The CEA tour, which features speakers in engineering, law, finance and other industry disciplines, is designed to establish a dialogue with Americans about the benefits of nuclear energy. The group is comprised of a group of nuclear energy experts who volunteer their time to raise awareness about the benefits of nuclear energy as a clean, reliable and affordable energy source.

NC State was the first university in the country to build an on-campus nuclear reactor and is consistently ranked among the top 10 nuclear engineering programs in the nation.
