Construction of NC State’s BTEC Center Is Well Underway

Construction of the new Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) on NC State University’s Centennial Campus is eight percent complete. The foundation and concrete wall for the basement are finished, footings for the second and third floor overhang are in progress and the structural steel erection is scheduled to start May 8.

The new facility will be the largest of its kind in the nation and the state’s hub of biomanufacturing research and training. Through partnerships with community colleges, it is anticipated that BTEC’s distance education and on-site programs will serve 2,000 to 3,000 students and prospective employees per year.
