The Industrial Extension Service at North Carolina State University has named Dr. David Boulay as its new deputy director.
Boulay comes to NC State from Ohio State University, where he worked as a business and workforce development specialist. He has also held positions at Pillsbury and Cintas.
Boulay has helped create and retain many new jobs during his career. He has also helped secure numerous grants, including the Entrepreneurial Signature Program through the Ohio Department of Development, Technology Division, which provides services for rural entrepreneurs. Boulay also provides leadership to numerous professional societies.
In 2007 Boulay’s efforts helped Ohio State’s Endeavor Center business incubator and training center win the Excellence in Rural Economic Development Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. Boulay received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Binghamton University, Franklin University, and Ohio State, respectively.
IES, a unit of the College of Engineering, is the arm of NC State that supports North Carolina business in the workplace. Established in 1955, IES helps companies manage and expand their net worth while supporting technology development. The group is seeking to generate $1 billion in wealth for the state through the 1B4NC campaign.
