Middle and High School Students Can Discover Engineering at NC State This Summer

The College of Engineering at North Carolina State University is now accepting applications from middle and high school students for the 2005 Engineering Summer Programs. Applications are available online at www.engr.ncsu.edu/summerprograms/.

Each summer, high school students step onto the campus of NC State to experience a week of engineering and college life. Rising juniors and seniors move into residence halls and take part in hands-on laboratory experiments, lectures and field trips. There are 10 different programs from which students can choose. Structured evening activities allow the students to socialize with other young people who have similar academic and career interests.

Middle school students (rising sixth through ninth graders) attend day camps held primarily at Centennial Campus Middle School led by middle school teachers in partnership with engineering faculty from NC State. During the camp, students experience engineering through fun application-based activities.
