Lee Receives IIE Technical Innovation Award

Dr. Yuan-Shin Lee, professor of industrial and systems engineering, received the 2006 Award for Technical Innovations in Industrial Engineering from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) at the Annual IIE Annual Conference held in May in Orlando, Fla.

The Award for Technical Innovation acknowledges significant innovative technical breakthroughs and contributions to the industrial engineering profession. Only one award is given by IIE annually.

Internationally recognized as a pioneer in the field of computational design and manufacturing, Lee’s work represents a significant advance in both theory and practice of computer-aided molecular design and complex surface manufacturing.

Lee received his Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Purdue University in 1993. He joined the NC State faculty in 1995.
