Dr. Russell E. King, professor of industrial and systems engineering at North Carolina State University, has been elected Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). The announcement was made at the IIE annual conference held in May.

Selection as a fellow reflects King’s achievements in research, teaching and service over the past two decades. A recipient of the IIE Award for Technical Innovation in 2003, King’s research interests include control and scheduling of production and logistics systems and demand activated manufacturing/sourcing systems.

King received his Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the University of Florida in 1986. He joined the NC State faculty in 1985.
